Wonderful issue! I love the story about your doorman and the fact that he gives Minnie 3 treats each afternoon when you walk her! You make Wonderful observations and write so cogently!

Hi Anne. Friend of TAoN here – very glad Rob alerted us to you. Could you please let John know that when I lived in SF in the mid 90s, our local bodega guy (the Pride Superette on 22nd and Guerrero) was working on a rubber band ball that was at that time about the size of a very large beach ball. According to this, things went pear-shaped: https://www.roadsideamerica.com/tip/5679

So great! And so funny there are no photos of the ball because the owner was so secretive and cranky about it.

Hi Jaysen! It was so fun for me to interview your dad and get to know him better. I will have an update on the rubber band ball in the next issue. :)

Fun again and entertaining. I love the very fine line where hobbies can become obsessions. Non geofenced home-built drones is close and cool.

Thanks Mark! My doorman is still at it. The rubberband ball is growing too...

I've lived all over but now a long time in the Midwest. Lots of little towns where there is someone with a hobby that gets out of control. This is one of those silly "local interest" stories they remind on the CBS affiliate once in a while. Warning 3 minutes you don't get back but it is a cautionary tale for your doorman.
