What a delight! As a former turtle owner, I really resonate with his love for them. But also I get that some people think they're a bit 'too much'. They don't do tons of cuddling, they barely change facial expressions from a blank stare all day, and they're quite messy. BUT, breaking through that lizard brain and making a connection with our reptilian friends is a true treat.
My grandmother used to tell me that as a child she had a pair of turtles who would stand up and beg for food. We believe what other say because it is true for them.
